Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Teaching Program

 

We are pleased to announce the opportunity for academic staff members of the Department of Political Science and International Studies (PSIS) at Bahir Dar University to participate in the Erasmus+ Staff Teaching Mobility Program. This program offers a valuable chance to enhance your teaching skills and professional development through an exchange with the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Netherlands.

Program Objectives:

  1. Foster international cooperation and exchange of knowledge in the field of PSIS.
  2. Enhance teaching methodologies and practices through exposure to different educational systems.
  3. Strengthen intercultural understanding and promote networking opportunities with international colleagues.
  4. Contribute to the development of academic curricula and research collaborations.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Applicants must be full-time academic staff members of the Department of PSIS at Bahir Dar University.
  2. Candidates should possess a strong academic and professional background in the field of Political Science, Peace and Conflict, Development Studies, Governance, Federalism, or Human Rights.
  3. Fluency in English is required, as all teaching activities will be conducted in English.
  4. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to promoting internationalization and intercultural exchange within the university.
  5. The teaching activity must comprise a minimum of 8 hours of lectures per week for one month of mobility. 

Application Procedure:

If you are interested in applying for this program, kindly submit document copies that attest the following to BDU External Relations and Partnership Directorate:  

 

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV),
  • Letter of motivation (max 600 words), explaining the reasons for applying and the expected benefits from participating in the program,
  • Proposed teaching plan, outlining the topics to be covered and methodologies to be used,
  • English language proficiency results such as TOEFL, IELTS etc (not a letter about medium of instruction),
  • The last degree you have,
  • Work experience in years,
  • Disability,
  • Valid passport during time of application.

Important Dates:

  • Application Deadline: February 26, 2024 at 5:00 pm.
  • Notification of results through email: March 03, 2024
